Litigation Support

Unlike other businesses, the cannabis industry is highly regulated. Each state that has legalized the growing, processing, or sale of cannabis has its own rules and regulations regarding security. WJ Cousins and Associates has a thorough knowledge of the state-mandated security regulations, as well as the entire cannabis business from “seed to sale.”

With over 35 years of security experience in both the public and private sector—along with years of experience in securing cannabis facilities—our founder Bill Cousins is uniquely qualified to assist attorneys in preparing for litigation in this industry. With 22 years as a Special Agent with the United States Secret Service—combined with over 13 years in the private sector—Bill Cousins is uniquely qualified to assist attorneys in preparing for litigation cases.

His area of expertise include premises liability, risk management, security policies and procedures, security guard training, inadequate training and inadequate security as they relate to cannabis facilities.

Mr. Cousins has earned the coveted Certified Protection Professional (CPP) certification from the American Society for Industrial Security.
